Unfinished 160 120 and 90 Kit Wings
The 160 Wing was designed for Surf Foiling but really Kite Foils extremely well.
In lighter winds of around 10kts to 14kts this is our wing of choice.
It is also a lovely stable platform on which to try new things.
For winds around 15kts to 18kts we would choose the 120 Wing.
For winds gusting into the 20kts range we would choose the 90 Wing.
90 Wing - Use 3m kite size less than you would need to ride your twintip upwind.
120 Wing - Use 1 kite size less than the 90 wing
160 Wing - Use 1 kite size less than the 120 wing
These recommendations will vary with the type of kite used and foiler skill level.
The "Hydrobat" Canalizer Wing may be added to all three kite wing sizes.
This further enhances stability and performance when riding the hydrofoil in the sea
and on swell. It also can be used to hold down excess power from a larger sized kite.
The 120 Wing fits well for surfers up to 75kg.
It is the best suited wing for starting off and learning to surf foil in the waves.
The smaller 120 Wing is easier to manage when getting used to the energy of the waves.
Intermediate to advanced riders will also enjoy this wing on large high energy swell.
The 160 Wing fits well for surfers above 75kg.
It can be used by intermediate to advanced foilers of any weight, looking for super lift in smaller conditions.
These weight recommendations are only mentioned as a guide to someone learning to surf foil.
As one progresses and begins to surf more aggressively on steeper waves, a smaller wing for your weight may become a better choice.
However, in smaller conditions, as your skills improve, a bigger wing will definitely produce longer rides.
Ensure you have sufficient water depth when foiling.
